Caramelized Miso-Butter Sprouts with Sesame Seeds

An extraordinary way to enjoy seasonal Brussels sprouts with a delicious twist.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 250g Brussels sprouts, halved
  • 50g unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tbsp miso paste
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted (optional: black and white for contrast)
  • Salt & freshly ground black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Miso-Butter:
    • In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, miso paste, and lime juice. Mix well until smooth and season lightly with salt and pepper. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the Bricknic & Roast the Sprouts:
    • Drizzle the vegetable oil into your Bricknic cooking brick.
    • Add the halved Brussels sprouts and toss to coat evenly. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
    • Cover the Bricknic and place it in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F). Roast for 25 minutes until the sprouts are starting to soften and turn golden.
  3. Add the Miso-Butter:
    • Remove the Bricknic from the oven and carefully spoon the prepared miso-butter mixture over the roasted sprouts. Toss well to ensure the butter coats the sprouts evenly.
  4. Caramelize & Finish:
    • Return the Bricknic to the oven, uncovered, and roast for an additional 15 minutes.
    • The sprouts should be caramelized, golden, and glossy.
  5. Garnish & Serve:
    • Sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds over the sprouts for a nutty crunch. Serve immediately and enjoy!
